Dry cork can feel slick. Mist it lightly with the glass mister in the box.

Every layer named, top to floor

Cork on rubber feels firmer than a foam mat. For kneeling poses, fold a blanket under your knees or use a block.

5 mm in total, a pre‑production target: about 2 mm of cork on about 3 mm of natural tree rubber.

Why cork on top

  • Under bare hands, cork feels smooth and natural when it's dry.
  • Cork is made of millions of tiny air-filled cells, which is why it's light and springy.
  • It has a water-resistant surface that wipes clean.
  • The top layer is cork, a renewable material: the bark regrows after each harvest.
Pre-production targets. Measured values replace them before launch.

Three worries, and how to check them

  1. About cork mats

Cork mats are slippery, and they flake apart.

Dry cork can feel slick, so the box has a mister. Flaking comes from thin cork or a weak bond, so check both.

    See the mist ritual
  2. About you

I sweat a lot and I'm hard on gear. Cork care sounds fussy.

Care is three habits: wipe, dry flat, roll loosely, cork side out. If the bond fails in normal use during the limited warranty, we repair or replace the mat.

    Read the care card
  3. About other mats

Every “eco” mat is greenwashed, you can't know what's in it, and premium mats are heavy.

You can check this one. We name every layer and print a 2.0 kg (4.4 lb) target weight. We hold no certificates yet.

A seven-day email guide, free with every order or on its own. It starts at launch. This preview sends nothing. Some answers are on this page.

The mat drying flat on a wooden floor after a wipe, a folded cloth beside it.
Pre-production render.
  1. Day 1
    • How long to air out a new natural rubber mat, and where.
    • Where a weak bond shows first on a new cork mat.
    • Why the layer under the cork decides weight, smell and floor hold.
  2. Day 2
    • How much mist is too much, and the sign you've overdone it.
  3. Day 3
    • What to do while a new cork mat settles in.
  4. Day 4
    • Why scrubbing a sweaty cork mat is the wrong move.
  5. Day 5
    • How to tell a cork mat is dry enough to roll.
    • What gets rolled up with your mat when you roll too soon.
  6. Day 6
    • What happens to cork edges if you roll the mat backwards.
  7. Day 7
    • A 10‑minute flow, even if you're used to a softer mat.

Dry starts, and care in three habits

We haven't had this mat friction-tested, so we don't promise grip. You get a mister, a ritual and the trial.

A hand misting the cork surface with the glass mister.
Pre-production render.

The mist ritual

  1. Unroll the mat and put a hand flat on it.
  2. If it feels slick, mist the surface lightly with water.
  3. Start your flow.

Give a new mat a few sessions to settle in.

Care card

Wipe
Wipe with a damp cloth after practice. Don't soak it or put it in the washing machine.
Dry it flat
Let it air-dry flat before rolling. Keep it out of direct sun and hot cars. Store it dry: like any natural material, cork can grow mold if stored damp.
Roll it loosely
Roll it loosely, cork side out, so the edges lie flat when you unroll it.

Why $149

$149 pays for about 2 mm of cork bonded to about 3 mm of natural tree rubber.

It also pays for the glass mister and care card in the box, and free standard shipping.

There's no launch discount and no “was” price, so $149 is the price.

No catch

  • No subscription, and nothing to renew.
  • No return fee during the trial.

If all the 60-day trial did was let you test cork where you practice, free to send back, would you try it?

Reviews come after real classes

No reviews yet

The mat is still in pre‑production.

How founding reviews will work

  • Teachers and students will get founding mats before launch.
  • We publish every review unedited, whatever its rating.
  • We never ask for positive reviews.
  • Reviews of mats we gave free or discounted say so.
  • No star rating until verified reviews are in.

Questions before you order

Some of these answers may talk you out of ordering.

Can I order now?

Not yet. This is a preview store: checkout is a demo and takes no payment, and the specs are pre-production targets. Nothing you type here is sent to us.

Isn't cork slippery?

Dry cork can feel slick at the start of practice, so the box has a glass mister. The mist ritual shows how lightly to use it.

Still not right? Send it back free within 60 days of delivery.

I sweat a lot. Will it get gross? Do I still need a towel?

Cork has a water-resistant surface that wipes clean. Wipe it after practice and let it dry flat before rolling.

Whether you still want a towel in a heated room is personal, and the 60-day trial is how you find out.

Why does it cost $149?

It pays for about 2 mm of cork bonded to about 3 mm of natural tree rubber. Standard shipping is free, and there's no launch discount to wait for.

Will it flake or peel?

Cork mats can flake when the cork is thin or poorly bonded. Ours has about 2 mm of fine-grain cork bonded to the base.

If the cork separates from the base in normal use within 2 years, we repair or replace the mat under our limited warranty (draft terms).

The cork surface wears with use. That's normal wear, not a defect, so the warranty doesn't cover it. To slow it down, follow the care card.

How heavy is it?

The target is 2.0 kg (4.4 lb), about a 2-liter bottle of water. We'll post a scale photo in the testing log.

The Practice Set and the Pair include a carry sling. You can add one to the Mat at checkout.

Does it smell?

New natural rubber has a mild smell that fades. Air the mat out for a few days.

The rubber and the glue are named in the materials list, which goes in the testing log before launch. If the smell still bothers you within 60 days, send the mat back on our free return label.

I have a latex allergy.

The base is natural rubber. It contains natural rubber latex, which can cause allergic reactions. If you have a latex allergy, this mat isn't for you. Email us before you order if you're unsure.

Is cork antibacterial?

We don't make that claim, because we haven't tested this mat for it. To keep it clean, follow the care card. Like any natural material, cork can grow mold if stored damp, so keep it dry.

Can I use it for hot yoga?

You can try it, and the 60-day trial is how you find out. We haven't tested it in heated rooms, so we make no promise about them.

Where is the cork from? Is it sustainable?

We don't name a country for the cork or the factory until we hold the documents.

Harvesting cork doesn't require cutting down the tree. That describes the cork layer, not the whole mat, so we don't call the mat sustainable.

What's the return policy?

The trial runs 60 days from delivery and covers everything in your order. Return all or part, used or not. We send a free return label (contiguous US) and refund each item at its share of what you paid. If you send back the whole order, we refund any express shipping too.

If something arrives damaged or faulty, send a photo within the trial. We replace or refund it without asking for it back. After the trial, the 2‑year limited warranty covers the cork‑to‑base bond and manufacturing defects in normal use.

Read the draft returns policy and limited warranty.

Can I give it as a gift?

Yes. Enter their address at checkout (contiguous US). The 60-day trial starts when it arrives, and our limited warranty also applies to them. A claim needs the order number from your receipt.

If they have a latex allergy, this mat isn't for them.

When will it arrive?

We aim to dispatch in 1 business day. Standard shipping is free and takes 2–5 business days. Express takes 2 business days and costs $15. We ship within the contiguous US.

Do you have reviews?

Not yet. The mat is still in pre‑production. See how founding reviews will work.

How will I pay?

At launch, by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Link.

Still deciding? The trial starts when the mat arrives, not when you order.
